October 21- Beginning October 21st this is a six week online series titled The Real World of Voodoo, Vodou, and African Traditional Religions, with Author and Priestess Lilith Dorsey. Over the course of six weeks, we’ll learn the truth about these ancient traditions and how they've survived and thrived throughout the ages against extreme odds, while also unpacking the misconceptions surrounding these systems. We will elucidate the different traditions that make up the African Diaspora, including Vodou from Benin and Haiti, Nigerian Ifa, La Regla Lucumi (more commonly known as Santeria or Cuban Santo), New Orleans Voodoo, Low Country Hoodoo, Brazilian Candomble, and Obeah from Jamaica and Belize. We will examine not only the history of these time-honored religions, but also the mystery of herstory and the legacy of the divine feminine present which is always present here.
